Dogtown-Built Fayr App Is Showcased on Planet of the Apps
July 27, 2017 - 3 minutes readWhen Michael Daniels came to Dogtown Media, he had a killer idea: what if there was an app that helped recently divorced couples keep track of their co-parenting responsibilities? It is an enormous challenge navigating and negotiating the new rules of parenting after a divorce, especially when the emotional wounds are still fresh. Michael hoped to harness the power of technology to make divvying up parental duties easier. He went searching for a Miami app developer to help him realize his dream and found what he was looking for with Dogtown Media. With our extensive experience in app development, we were able to take Michael’s brilliant idea and create Fayr, which was featured on this week’s episode of Planet of the Apps and is now a featured app in the App Store.
Fayr is essentially a life management app designed to help divorcees deal with the seemingly endless demands of co-parenting. It has four core features: a calendar to keep track of custody and the children’s activities; an expenses tracker; a geo-location log that enables real-time check-ins; and a messaging system to help keep everybody coordinated. The goal of every app developer worth his or her salt is to create an app that really enriches lives. Fayr is one of the rare apps that truly has the potential to transform people’s lives for the better.
And Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow agrees. The celebrated actress agreed to take Michael under her wing on this week’s episode of the Apple Music reality show Planet of the Apps, a sort of Shark Tank for app developers. As Paltrow, who knows a thing or two about co-parenting after her split from Coldplay’s Chris Martin, says, “Fayr removes unnecessary stresses and tension so parents can collaborate to create calm and stability for their children.” Now the app is featured on the App Store and will be heading to Android devices by the end of the year.
We’d like to congratulate Michael on his success. It was an honor to help transform his vision into an app that is making life better for parents and kids alike. If you would like to read more about the process that brought Fayr to life, you can read our case study here.
